Is medical tourism for me?
Which are the countries that offer medical tourism?
Argentina, Brunei, Cuba, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Jordan, Lithuania, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and recently, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Tunisia, and New Zealand are some of the countries that have recognized medical tourism as a national industry.
Why is the cost of treatment so less in these countries?
The cost of the treatment in these countries is lesser because of the cheap labour, lower administrative and legal costs. But the good thing is that these factors do not translate into compromise on quality. The quality remains at par with the world’s best medical institutions.
Why should I avail the services of a facilitator?
Planning a medical vacation on your own could be a little confusing considering the fact that you have to choose from a range of overseas service providers. Also, planning the logistics will be time consuming when you have other things to worry about. A facilitator, through its local network of providers can easily arrange for all your travel and medical needs and prepare a detailed itenary for you before you travel. All that you need to do is pack your bags!
How reliable are the hospitals in these countries?
As reliable, or perhaps more, than in the most developed countries. The hospitals that we are networked with are the ones with internationally recognized accreditations like the JCI and NABH. These hospitals are equipped with the state of the art technology and follow international standard protocols.
How reliable are the doctors?
Most of the doctors practicing in these hospitals are trained in the USA and UK, and have earned their degrees from the best medical schools in the world. The credentials of these doctors are almost similar to the doctors in the most developed nations and are amongst the best in the industry.
